Ate31.com and future community outreach initiatives is a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation (501(c)(3)) that was created by Miguel Villarreal, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Miguel has dedicated nearly two decades of his health care career to the Monterey County community.
During this time, Miguel recognized the significance of preventative health and transitioned from nursing to nutrition to educate his community about the paramount role of nutrition and physical activity in overall well-being. He pursued his educational journey at Hartnell College and subsequently transferred to Fresno State, where he earned his degree in Food and Nutritional Science with a concentration in Food Administration in 2020.
Miguel then completed approximately 1200 hours of Didactic Program in Dietetics at Fresno State and actively participated in research, investigating the impact of nutrition and physical activity education on the Hispanic community. Additionally, he collaborated with the Partnership for a Healthier America and Fresno State to collect data for the Healthy Campus Initiative, which resulted in the installation of an external fitness court.
Since then, Miguel has returned to south Monterey County, where he previously worked as a dietitian at MEE and provided consulting services to Long Term Care facilities within Monterey County. For the past two years, he has dedicated his efforts to educating and intervening with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients.
Miguel’s ultimate goal is to empower his community with the knowledge necessary to adopt healthier lifestyles. He aims to elucidate the profound influence of nutrition and physical activity on their overall health and well-being.
